ONE (FULL)DAY SEMINARS

(Ist. Seminar on 19th.March,2005)

at Beach Luxury Hotel,Karachi

Topic: Child/Parents Realtion-ship

………. Why One Day Seminars

As part Of the 14-Months Diploma Course it is compulsory for the Normal Students to attend 2-One-Day Seminars.

But
Why….?

The Montessori Diploma Course aims to train Teachers to be able to teach Children of ages 3 onwards uptill 6-years. In this a very important element! That is,how can our students understand The Montessori philosophy and apply this knowledge in their practical life…not only as Teachers but as different roles as a Woman….as a Daughter….Mother-in-law….& as Grand mothers.

So after many years of observation, carefull planning and focusing on what aspects were missing…..how can the Mont-essori understanding can be
re-enforced into a women’s daily life ….LMI came up with a brillient solution! A series ofONE-DAY SEMINARSwere designed withSocial& Educationaltopics….in the light of Montessori’s discoveries of the CHILD.

LMI decided to isolate and focus on a single role of aMULTI-VERSITILE-WOMENand exclusively devote one full day, and conduct Seminar on women related themes….by a team of Montessri experts who have successfully OVERCOME all obstacles in their life-long journey of women-hood; with years of valuable experience as firm believers of the Montessori message.

So this was how it started…why it started…..inspired by the fact that Montessori education caters for children ages 0 -6 yrs. when the CHILD starts going to scholl;he is about 2.5- 3 yrs. old…only then is he exposed to and comes in-touch with a trained Directress…..no one thinks about what happened to the first 3- important & precious years( 0 – 3 ).Due to lack of understanding of the CHILD’S true nature and unawareness by most parents and other responsible relations;more than 50% of permanent damages are done,by the time the CHILD starts going to school.

LMI’S ONE-DAY SEMINARS DOES EXACTLY
THIS…..WE PROVIDE SOLUTION

FOR ADULTS AS TO HOW TO HANDLE CHILDREN (0 – 6)
YRS.

Let us take a brief look into each……

Topic-1” CHILD PARENTS RELATIONSHIP”

Isn’t that the CHILD’s first introduction and adaptation to life after birth…..starting from nothing at birth! by age 3,the CHILD is the reflection of his home environment….he acts, behaves, walks, talks just like his parents! So needless to say how important and vital it is for Parents to understand “CHILD” and provide the right environment, where the CHILD is given an opportunity to develop according to nature’s plan (as discovered by dr. Maria Montessori) only then the result would be a happy, healthy and NORMALIZED CHILD.

Topic-2“CHILD/PARENTS & TEACHERS RELATIONSHIPS”.

After building a perfect relationship between the CHILD & Parents, of-course the next important Person in the life of THE CHILD is THE TEACHER!

Although Parents play their role to the best of their abilities and Teachers play their role to the best of their efforts and
responsibilities……but due to the lack of communication and cooperation between Parents and Teachers; they fail to
realize that they both are equally important figures in the life of THE CHILD.They act like a bridge, they are a link
between THE CHILD…….his home and School environment. But what t generally happens……Parents think now they are sending their CHILD to School, all the responsibilites lies on the Teacher’s shoulders. Teacher thinks that Children only spend about 4 to 5 hours in the School…..a lot depends on the time THE CHILD spends at home under his Parent’s guidance.

THE RESULT A ” BLAME GAME” AND NO ONE SUFFERS…… EXEPT THE CHILD.

So our second Seminar deals with a relationship between PARENTS & TEACHERS, because they both have one goal in
common. That is the proper mental & physical development & progress of the CHILD.And this can only be achieved by
communication, interaction, discussion and the importance of Parents.

Together Parents and Teachers should try to deal with and solve minor & major aspect, positive & negative, areas where THE CHILD is lacking in, which needs to be focused and improved.

Once a mutual understanding and trust is developed between Parents and the Teachers…..they accept and realize…..yes….they both have the same common goal….that is….TO BRING UP.

The CHILD too begin to love, respect and trust both his Parents & Teachers equally……….in this way the basic foundation (0-6) is strengthen…..the long term result would be A WELL BALANCED REST.

Topic-2“HOW TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS AMONG CHILD,PARENTS & GRAND-PARENTS”

After conducting Seminars on two of the most important & meaningful relationship.i.e “CHILD PARENTS RELATIONSHIP” and ” CHILD/PARENTS & TEACHERS RELATIONSHIP”,we realized that theses are not the only people the CHILD comes incontact with, exposed to or surrounded by – in our society especially in Joint Family system, is quite common i.e Grand-Parents. For both Grand Parents grand Children are the source of blessings & Love…Their love is unconditional Love! And so too for the Parents…Children are a source of blessings and Love…..

But the question is ….are the Parents and Grand Parents a source of blessings and Love ….? Not always! Therefore the direct dispute, misunderstanding, lack of cooperation & communication which gives way to countless “CONFLICTS” has an indirect or direct negative impact on the CHILD’s young innocent “Absorbent Mind”..This never ending conflicts between the adults vanishes with the passage of time……..they forgive and forget just as easily …..but for the CHILD,every thing he sees ,hears, experiences becomes incarnated in his personality….he becomes The Victim of the conflicts for life! Therefore as Montessorians who understand the true nature of the CHILD,it become our responsibility to conduct a Seminar on this topic:

“How to resolve conflicts among CHILD/Parents & GrandParents.”

Not surprising, over the years this Seminar has touched a very sensitive sentiments; it touches the heart& soul of all those who have attended this Seminar.Perhaps because it is based on bitter facts & realities of life….yet the bond of Love & understanding with the CHILD can help resolve the conflicts.Every one who has attended this Seminar can easily relate to it…..because these conflicts are there in every household….the rich & poor, the educated & the uneducated ! In the dim and hopeless darkness of their home environment; this Seminar throws rays of hope…..provided in the positive solution by our experts who themselves are not only Parents, but Grand-Parents…..who are living a blissful life of Love, laughter & understanding and happiness…! All three generation i.e, the CHILD ,the Parents & the Grand-Parents living under one roof ……caring, sharing, loving and most important respecting each other….if not for any reason; at least for the sake of the CHILD……who is the adult of the future! Some day he too will become Parent….and then a Grand-Parent…..and then he will give exactly what he received….so let us be very careful and cautious about the role we play
in the lives of our Children…!

Topic-4“EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT”

During the 14-months of the intensive Montessori Diploma Course our Students are given a deep insight & understanding of Montessori
philosophy, principles, theories and practical presentation of Montessori Teaching Aids (Material). Yet, once they go into their teaching field and try to apply and implement the sytem in School; not all are able to to obtain successful result

immediately….it is due to many reasons – lack of experience yes, theoretically.
